10 Things You Didn’t Know About Me

I can’t believe it’s been a month since I have decided to quit alcohol. I only realised that this morning. I am so proud of myself. It hasn’t been easy at all, but I am glad I made that decision. It is probably the best decision I’ve made this year and I look forward to making more wise decisions in the future.

Todays’ blog post is about me and for you guys to know a little bit more about Sandy Nene. I saw a few overseas bloggers doing this tag and thought it would be cool if I joined in… And of course include some of my South African blogger friends. Read below the 10 things you didn’t know about me.

  1. Throughout my primary school and half of high school, my full names were Sandile MsimangoMsimango is my great-grandma’s married name. There’s a long story behind all of this, so before I confuse you, I will leave it here. But my real surname is Nene which I am using now.
  2. I attended 6 schools overall; four primary and two high schools. My mom tried sending me to the best schools at that time, but due to my father not willing to support my education, mom struggled. I kept jumping from one school to the next, it was crazy.
  3. At grade 8 in the year 2007, I was titled ‘Head Boy’ at Redfern Combined School.
  4. In High School, all my friends were girls and I was the only guy. There were 9 of them and we called ourselves The Big 10.
  5. In 2013, I went on my first flight.
  6. I can not drive.
  7. I once worked as a promoter at Angelos Gay Night Club which was closed down early 2013.
  8. I was once a drag artist.
  9. Hate might be too much but I am not really a cat or a dog person.
  10. I can not swim.

I would like to tag the following bloggers.

Listen To My Podcast On Cliff Central With Arye Kellman

Cliff Central is South Africa’s biggest online radio station which was founded by the legendary Gareth Cliff. I was recently interviewed on their drive-time show, #Kellman by presenter Arye Kellman. They chatted to me about how I got into blogging and a few life lessons. You can listen to the podcast below:

New In | Puma In Suede | Superbalist

I am a huge sneaker fan and if you’re a regular visitor of this blog, you would know that by now. Well, a colleague of mine, who I featured on this blog a while back shared a link with me this morning of http://superbalist.com latest releases. I was really excited that I thought of doing a blog post about it. I will try to behave and not buy a pair right away because I recently went shopping for my next fashion shoot where I will be collaborating with my favourite Durban bloggers.

Until next time, from your loyal sneaker lover! Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram: SandyNeneSA and also LIKE my Facebook page.
